Student Pays Over $600,000 for Illegal Downloads
To all of y'all that love Limewire and Kazaa and haven't bought a CD in years..............beware of the consequences. Law officials are cracking down on illegal downloading.
A Boston University graduate student pleaded guilty to illegally downloading and sharing 30 songs online, before a federal jury. The student was ordered to pay $675,000 to four record labels. Another young adult was also sentenced. Twenty-five year old Joel Tenenbaum of Providence, R.I. was ordered to pay $22,500 for each incident of copyright infringement.
